Veri skandallarıyla gündeme gelen Facebook, geçtiğimiz haftalarda Avrupa Birliği engeline takıldı. Kişisel bilgilerin ABD’de depolanmasına karşı çıkan Avrupa Birliği ülkeleri, Meta’nın itiraz etmesi halinde hem Instagram hem de Facebook’u engelleyecek.
Kuruluşundan bu yana kullanıcılarına sadece bir hesaba sahip olma hakkı tanıyan Facebook, katı kurallarında esnekliğe gitmek için hazırlık yapıyor. Şirket, tıpkı Instagram gibi aynı kişinin birden fazla kişisel hesaba sahip olmasına imkan sağlayacağını açıkladı.
Facebook kullanıcıları, bir hesaba en fazla beş adet farklı profil ekleyebilecek. Profiller arasında geçiş kolaylığı da sağlayacağını belirten firma, yeni özelliğini yakında tüm kullanıcılara sunacak.
Facebook, yeni özelliğini kullanıcıların aile ve arkadaş çevresiyle sınırlı kalmaması için geliştirdiğini duyurdu. Yapılan açıklamada, “Facebook kullanıcılarının yemek pişirme, tasarım veya seyahat gibi hobileri için oluşturulmuş profillere sahip olmasını istiyoruz. Kullanıcılar, yalnızca aile üyeleri veya arkadaşlarıyla iletişime geçtikleri ayrı bir profil de oluşturabilecek.” ifadelerine yer verdi.
Facebook şubat ayında yaptığı açıklamada, ilk kez kullanıcı kaybı yaşandığını bildirdi. 2022’nin ilk çeyreğinde tekrar yükselişe geçen aktif kullanıcı sayısı, toplam 1.96 milyar kişiye ulaştı.
